Baaghi 2: Pollytalks review

Baagh2 242

Baaghi, directed by Sabbir Khan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and written by Sanjeev Datta was based on South Indian movie Varsham. The audience loved the movie and its song and the movie went on to do good. So when Baaghi 2 was announced, with Ahmed Khan, there was already a buzz created. The songs and the trailer added to the excitement.

Baaghi 2, starring Tiger Shroff as Ranveer Pratap Singh (Ronny) and Disha Patni as Neha is a story of Rea, Neha’s 3 year old kidnapped 2 months ago. The movie starts with Tiger portraying a hardened commando fighting off terrorists somewhere in Kashmir. He gets a distress call from Neha, his ex girlfriend in Goa, requesting for his help. When he reaches Goa and meets her she tells him to help find her missing daughter Rea. The story goes through twists and turns and layers of mystery unfolds. The film moves around Goa’s underground parties that play hindi ‘Ek, do, teen’ to Russian and Nigerian drug lords. The first half turns out to be quite an edge-of-the-seat suspense. The second half is where the action is. And the last scene turns out to be quite a heart warming end.

Overall the movie is good. Performance by Tiger and Disha as past lover is shown in a lovely way, the chemistry is sizzling and am sure we will see them together in more movies. Randeep Hooda as LSD, Manoj Bajpayee as Shergill and Pratiek as Sunny have not been utilised well. We were expecting some more to come out of the camaraderie between Shergill and LSD and also Sunny as the cocaine snorting baddie. The songs are great and “O Saathi’ by Atif Aslam is already busting the charts.

A clean ‘one-time-see’ with family movie …
